Galileos

A  revolutionary tool is helping Dr. Dowd and Tyler Dental Care provide advanced treatment to patients from Tyler and surrounding areas.

Galileos uses cone beam CAT scan technology to capture clear, detailed 3D images of a patient's teeth and jaw. These images can then be used by Dr. Dowd to educate patients and plan complex dental procedures, like bone graft surgery or dental implant placement and crown restoration. What's more, Galileos can even be paired with another revolutionary tool in our Tyler dental office - our new CEREC AC CAD/CAM machine- to ensure that we're providing the most precise and reliable restoration services to our patients as possible.

By comparison, traditional radiography produces flat images that can only be viewed on a light board. But images produced by Galileos can be rotated, highlighted, and manipulated, letting Dr. Dowd examine a patient from every angle. Such detailed access to a patient's mouth makes identifying the precise treatment needed easier, while features like surgical templates allow for precise planning of dental implant placement and restoration.

How Galileos Works

Galileos takes detailed 3D X-rays in just a matter of seconds, exposing patients to less radiation than a hospital based CAT scan. Afterwards, Dr. Dowd can talk one-on-one with his patients about their oral health and all treatment options available to them.
